Glen Rose Field of Flags Display Setup Event
May 22, 2025
May 22, 2025 – Glen Rose, Texas
On May 22, 2025, community members, local leaders, volunteers, and veterans came together for the setup of the second annual Glen Rose Field of Flags. Under clear skies and with a shared spirit of service, teams assembled to place over 100 American flags on the grounds of Glen Rose High School, each one representing a veteran, active-duty military member, or fallen hero.
The day began early, with flagpoles and rebar being distributed and installed in carefully measured star design to ensure a respectful and visually powerful display. Volunteers of all ages worked side by side—some placing flags, others attaching personalized dog tags that had been sponsored in honor or memory of service members. This year marked the introduction of military-style dog tags as part of the tribute, creating a tangible and lasting connection to the names and stories behind each flag.
Setup day served as more than just logistical preparation—it was a moving and unifying moment for the Glen Rose community. Conversations, quiet reflection, and teamwork filled the day with meaning as the field began to take shape. Despite the labor involved, there was an overwhelming sense of pride and purpose shared among everyone present.
This effort laid the foundation for a powerful Memorial Day weekend display, continuing the mission of the Glen Rose Field of Flags: to honor sacrifice, educate future generations, and unite the community in remembrance.
